Sexual Abuse Response Team (SART)
SART (Sexual Assault Response Team) is a collaboration between Sara’s Project, Mercy, the Southern Oklahoma Family Shelter, the District Attorney and Law Enforcement agencies to serve both male and female adult victims of sexual assault. Our local medical team provides response coverage 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, and 365 days a year, with medical forensic evaluations conducted in a private, confidential setting. SART serves victims in Carter, Love, Marshall, Murray and Johnston Counties.
Sexual Assault is a very traumatic experience. By providing a trained medical professional; a safe, confidential environment; and victim advocacy, we can reduce the trauma for clients. All nursing professionals have undergone intensive SANE (Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner) training, as well as participated in clinical practice. Dr. Pamela Kimbrough is providing program oversight as the Medical Director.
If you or someone you know has been a victim of sexual assault, please contact the Family Shelter Crisis Line at 580.226.6424. The Crisis Line Operator will activate SART.
